A publisher's summary of my book on Automated Fingerprint Identification Systems or AFIS. This is the first book published on this to date and is valuable tool for background information as to the operation of AFIS systems. Contributing authors include Peter T. and Kathleen M. Higgins, and Lisa K. Fox.
The book also serves as a resource for administrators who want to improve the operation of their AFIS systems, in particular with regard to systems purchase, upgrade, and legal obligations.
Automated Fingerprint Identification Systems provides specific examples as to how these systems can be used to improve the number o latent print identifications. The book is being used as a text for both on-line and classroom based forensic courses.
Peter D. Komarinski was interviewed for the 2005 edition of Evidence Technology Magazine.
